(Port) Wine of the month July 2022: Smith Woodhouse Vintage Port 1977

This is a remarkable Port. Although almost closed, the 77 Smith Woodhouse already shows parts of its fantastic potential, which is sleeping underneath. Dark-red color. Fine spices in the bouquet with an underlying red-fruit note and coffee. Supporting acidity on the palate with blackberry, cassis and cherry. Declasses some bigger houses from the same year and will age very nicely. 18/20
